History

TurnKey Network Solutions was formed in 2000 as a telecommunications contractor headquartered in Grand Rapids, Michigan.

The concept behind TurnKey was simple: provide a one-stop “TurnKey” solution for our customers’ telecommunications needs – eliminating the need to contract with multiple vendors.

This approach was cemented in 2001 with the onset of our relationship with SBC for Central Office engineering and installation through our “Cluster” contract. Our relationship continues with AT&T as a Tier 1 Vendor.

Our reach expanded in 2002, when we expanded crews in Muncie, Indiana, to support our operations in Indiana and Ohio. In 2003, we expanded our service area in Detroit, Michigan to support the many projects and on-going work in that area. As our reputation grew, so did the demand for our services. In 2007, we opened an office outside of Chicago to support our Illinois and Wisconsin clients and opened another office just outside of Milwaukee in New Berlin the following year.

Always looking for creative ways to up our TurnKey approach, we became a Cisco Advanced Technology Partner in 2006. This enabled us to provide Cisco equipment directly to our client base. In 2009 we qualified with Cisco to be a Cisco Certified Premier Partner.

Our "TurnKey" approach became even more expansive in 2010 with the creation of our Professional Services department. The Professional Services department handles a wide variety of technical tasks, including network engineering, test and turn up of a wide variety of equipment, switch translations and switch decommissions.

In our eleven years of business we have been involved in many exciting and important projects including the engineering and installation of the Ford Motor Company’s “Dearborn Fiber Network” which today ties over 45 Ford buildings together with a private fiber network spanning Dearborn and Allen Park. We have also been very involved in the construction of statewide fiber networks for both Verizon Wireless and AT&T Wireless.
